Frequently asked questions about our custom-made roller blinds

If you can’t find answers to your questions, you can always contact us.

Should I choose over or under rolled?

Under-rolled means that the fabric comes from underneath and closer to the window, and this option is recommended for blackout roller blinds. Over-rolled means that the fabric comes from the top and is positioned farther away from the window.

How do I optimize the blackout feature on my roller blind?

To optimize blackout, we recommend installing your roller blind outside the window frame, as the fabric will be approximately 20 mm inside the bracket, which in some cases can create unavoidable light gaps. We also recommend choosing an under-rolled roller blind to optimize blackout. My Window asks you as a customer to be aware that even when selecting a roller blind with fabric classified as blackout, light gaps may occur. Why do these occur? Possible reasons can include the placement of window handles, the distance of the fabric or material from the window, and the prevailing installation conditions. Therefore, My Window does not guarantee that products with blackout fabric or material are 100% blackout.

Should I make any deductions in my measurements?

All measurements provided for our roller blinds with a ball chain are manufacturing measurements, and My Window will not make any deductions. For roller blinds intended to fit within a recess, My Window recommends a deduction of 10 mm from the total width. The measurement provided is the product’s measurement.

What do the accessories for my roller blind look like?

All our custom-made roller blinds online are delivered with a white plastic ball chain and white plastic brackets, as well as an integrated bottom bar.
