Scandinavian Homes
Birkagatan 19
My Window was tasked, in collaboration with Scandinavian Homes, to decorate a beautiful turn-of-the-century apartment on Birkagatan 19 in Stockholm. In this project, we at My Window chose to work with curtains in different colors and textures in various rooms. This was done to give each room its own unique touch. Darker-colored curtains were chosen for the bedrooms to create a cozier and more inviting atmosphere, but colors were selected to be tonally harmonious, providing a consistent feel throughout the apartment.
When it came to the living room, the goal was to highlight the beautiful white moldings and accentuate them with the help of a sheer white fabric. The curtain tracks were not installed on the ceiling but beneath the moldings to ensure they were not concealed but instead showcased.
In the Master Bedroom, a more luxurious ambiance was desired, leading to the choice of double tracks with curtains to introduce additional fabric and provide the room with a hotel-like feel. To add an extra level of coziness to the room, a velvet fabric was chosen for the front curtain, with a thin voile used for the rear curtain.
